About the role

The Team:

The team is located within the Government Relations and Strategic Policy (GRaSP) branch.

  • Key Role: Collaborates closely with service delivery areas across the department to shape, analyse, and implement policy initiatives.
  • Functions:
    • Conducts research and analysis to support evidence‑based policy development.
    • Advises on the alignment of departmental policy with state government objectives and legislative requirements.
    • Facilitates coordination and communication between service delivery units and executive leadership.
    • Builds strong partnerships across internal units and external stakeholders to advance strategic policy outcomes.
  • Team Environment: Operates within a cross-functional, consultative team that supports integrated policy planning and strategic governance across the state’s health system.

The Role:

The Policy Analyst is expected to work under direction within the GRaSP team and contribute and support the development of written advice, reports, other documentation and projects.

You will need to:

  • Support the development of high-level, strategic advice regarding government relations and strategic policy issues for the portfolio Ministers, Secretary, Agency and other stakeholders.
  • Provide input into the monitoring and reporting on intergovernmental agreements.
  • Under general direction, develop, research and analyse submissions, applications and business cases relating to intergovernmental agreements.

Details of appointment:

Fixed term full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 20 November 2026.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $98,255 to $103,069 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.
