OVERVIEW OF PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES:

Responsible for medical leadership at multiple sites within the Network. Assess patients, diagnose mental disorders, prescribe treatments, and conduct regular follow-up appointments to monitor the patient's progress. Supervision of assigned Psychiatrists, Nurse Practitioners, Psychiatry Residents and Nurse Practitioners students.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

• Demonstrating expertise in psychiatric medications and adhering to best practices
• Collaborating effectively within a cohesive team structure
• Understanding and adhering to reimbursement and productivity standards, with the ability to hold others accountable
• Providing medical leadership and oversight at all PROS sites and the Newburgh Family Counseling Center
• Ensuring compliance with documentation requirements according to OMH regulations and agency policies
• Serving as the lead physician for designated service lines, fostering improvements in workflows and care quality
• Supervising assigned psychiatrists and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners
• Conducting peer reviews and participating in the preceptorship of Psychiatry Residents and Nurse Practitioner students
• Reviewing incident reports, medical policies and collaborating with the Quality Assurance team to meet regulatory standards and enhance quality outcomes
• Assisting in preparation for regulatory site surveys alongside Behavioral Health Leadership
• Offering expert consultation to the team on complex cases in collaboration with site directors
• Advocating for the expansion of Medication Assisted Treatment across clinical sites
• Engaging in scheduled practice management and behavioral health leadership meetings
• Being available to review and sign treatment plans, especially for therapy-only cases and late treatment plans
• Collaborating with Behavioral Health site directors and nursing leadership to develop workflows that enhance patient outcomes, safety, and quality of care
• Assuming Medical Director responsibilities in the absence of the incumbent

QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES:

• Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations
• Supports Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
• Demonstrates high level of integrity and ethical standards
• Must be self-motivated, able to work independently, manage time effectively and prioritize work to meet deadlines
• Excellent communication proficiency.
• Excellent computer skills required, specific experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Electronic Medical Record Systems
• Ability to function effectively and collaboratively as part of a cross-functional team

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• MD licensure
• DEA License
• MD Degree
• Board Certification
• Flexibility in scheduling is imperative

PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS:
Must be able to sit or stand in front of a computer for hours at a time
