Armstrong World Industries is seeking a Maintenance Planner in Marietta, PA.

 

As our Maintenance Planner, you will report in to the Maintenance Manager and you will be responsible for effectively planning and scheduling maintenance work while meeting commitments for operating results and budgets.

 

You will also develop more detailed and complex PMs and job plans that require advanced technical understanding and fundamental process knowledge. You will use the functionality of SAP PM and the Maintenance Business Processes to drive prevention and full functionality.

 

What you’ll be doing:

 

Basic Maintenance Planning and Scheduling

  • Moving notifications to fully planned work orders
  • Identifying special equipment requirements and safety precautions
  • Ordering and kitting materials (auditing these kits as pulled through the storeroom)
  • Coordinating weekly and down day plans and schedules
  • Documenting bill of materials
  • Updating PM content and frequencies
  • Auditing work to ensure it is completed to standards defined in the job plan
  • Maintaining accurate work order backlog

 

Advanced Maintenance Planning

  • Improving PM Master Job Plan quality in terms of content and measurable standards that ensure reliability and process capability
  • Auditing PMs as they are completed to ensure that they are done correctly and updating as necessary through the interaction with the tradesman
  • Developing detailed Master Job Plans for critical repairs – creating a library of critical job plans to ensure effective execution of tasks and improve planning efficiency
  • Handling complex work requests that require application of basic engineering fundamentals and use of basic project management skills
  • Analyzing equipment history and cost information to drive improvements to operating results at lower maintenance costs
  • Auditing and reviewing with the Storeroom – obsolete parts, slow moving parts, overstock parts – and working to reduce storeroom carrying costs

 

Operating Discipline and Process Improvement

  • Following the defined maintenance business processes and the SAP PM system structure
  • Keeping records and SAP data accurate and orderly for high quality histories and usefulness in data analysis
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements to increase maintenance effectiveness and efficiency
  • Participating in and facilitating process improvement initiatives that support operating results and cost improvement
  • Meeting commitments for operating results and budgets, including maintenance costs, services outside firms, rental and stores working capital; and direct and period costs related to labor, materials, and energy driven by process reliability and capability

 

Required Experience :

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3+ years of maintenance planning and scheduling
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing
  • Computer proficiency in SAP PM (or other CMMS system), Excel, and Word
  • Experience with developing and maintaining a budget
  • Demonstration of technical application of advanced craft skills and basic engineering fundamentals
  • Basic project management skills
  • Basic understanding of predictive maintenance technologies including vibrations analysis, acoustics, infrared and motor circuit analysis
  • Effective writing and data organization skills
  • Facilitation and meeting management s
