As a Transport Courier Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting patients, medical samples, supplies, mail and specimens to and from the hospital along a predetermined route. You will learn both driver and courier duties, requiring the caregiver in this role to have strong interpersonal communication skills, empathy, and the ability to use an iPad and GPS. This position plays a critical role in hospital operations by ensuring that patients receive essential healthcare services in a timely manner. By facilitating the prompt transport of specimens and patients, it helps ensure timely test results, which are vital for establishing appropriate and effective care plans.
A caregiver in this role works PRN| variable days and hours|7:00am – 4:30pm OR 3:30pm – 9:30pm|weekends and holidays.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Conduct pick-up and delivery courier service for the Laboratory, Pharmacy, and other hospital departments.
Maintain necessary statistical logs and reports.
Adhere to schedule of courier service.
Understand public relations nature of job and strive to enhance hospital image.
Communicate with department and other hospital personnel.
Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Valid Ohio driver’s license and good driving record (no more than two moving violations, or a serious violation, within a three-year period)
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
