Summary:

Vulcan, recognized by chefs and operators around the world as the best-in-class supplier for premier, energy-efficient foodservice equipment, is seeking a motivated and energetic Kitchen Manager/Training Coordinator to join our team. The Kitchen Manager/Training Coordinator will work the sales, marketing, and culinary teams to enable sales and continue enhancing the Vulcan culinary experience through product training development, hands-on product demonstrations, menu development, and cross-functional leadership.  

Job Description

Function

Reporting to the Sr. Director of Sales Operations with dotted line to Vulcan’s Culinary Specialist, this role is responsible for the following:

Training Event Management:

  • Plan and manage “Vulcan Experience,” in-depth product training sessions for sales reps and dealers at Baltimore facility.
  • Work with internal Business Development Managers (BDMs) to ensure training content and materials are consistent, relevant, and engaging.
  • Work with internal Chefs on menu development to highlight our equipment and food trends found in end-user kitchens.
  • Manage budget and logistics for each session
    • Develop educational and engaging training schedule.
    • Clear and thorough communication with attendees before, during, and after training.
    • Organize lodging for attendees and training staff.
    • Set-up training room and manage logistics, i.e., technology.
    • Schedule necessary cleaning and laundry services, and menu item procurement.  
    • Find and secure relevant promotional items.  
    • Coordinate evening activities, including dinner and other team-bonding activities.
    • Ensure Vulcan brand is well represented and create “wow” moments throughout training.
  • Assist with additional product training – both in-person and virtual – and customer visits as needed.
  • May support regional and national tradeshows, pending needs of the team.

Kitchen Management

  • Serves as lead for the Baltimore test kitchen
  • Develop and execute organizational systems to ensure Vulcan test kitchen is well-organized, stocked suitably, efficient, and properly reflects the Vulcan brand at all times.
  • Manage food deliveries, hood and equipment cleaning, and regular maintenance schedules.
  • Own and manage internal calendar with clear and thorough communication of logistics and expectations with internal and external parties.
  • Strong culinary background with knowledge of how to use, clean, and demo each piece of cooking equipment.
  • Ability to develop, prep, and execute menus for events, demos, and videos.
  • Plan and execute occasional meals for VIP guests.

Video / Content Creation:

  • Work with Marketing Team, Chefs, and BDMs to identify video needs, i.e., product trainings, sales training, webinars, social media, tradeshows, etc.
  • Ensure Vulcan brand and equipment are well represented, information is accurate, content is relevant and engaging.   
  • Develop and adhere to project timelines.

Qualifications

Education

BS or BA degree in marketing, culinary arts, or business administration

Experience

~ 5-7 years of relevant culinary, marketing or product training experience
