Job Description:
Akamai Technologies, Inc. is hiring for the following role in Cambridge, MA (multiple openings): Software Engineer II. Designing and developing next-generation capabilities for the Akamai Platform; Developing and supporting virtualization software as well as deployment, provisioning, control, and monitoring systems; Analyzing the viability of software requirements during the design phase; Enhancing existing monitoring and provisioning interfaces; Troubleshooting problems with the deployed system and modifying software to correct errors; Collaborating with the testing and operations teams to create new regression tests; and Working with software systems like virtualization, kernel, databases, and other distributed systems. Required Qualification:
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or Telecommunications Engineering.
Completion of a university level course, research, thesis, or internship involving the following: labview; parallel programming; state machines; event-driven programming; CAN protocols; digital hardware circuits, and embedded system design.
Compensation:
Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary for this position ranges from $98072 - 174200/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.
The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
