Master Thesis student in AI aided Systems Engineering (d/f/m)

Start: March 2026 (or earlier)
Duration: 6 months

The primary objectives of this thesis are to develop a theoretical framework and a multi-agent workflow for refactoring textual systems engineering specifications. This involves defining specialized agent roles, implementing a prototype using Python and NLP techniques, and demonstrating the system's ability to enhance requirement clarity, ensure traceability, derive functional breakdowns, and reorganize specifications accordingly.

Your tasks and responsibilities

• The thesis tasks include conducting a comprehensive literature review on AI-assisted requirements engineering, refactoring, and multi-agent systems. 

• Additionally, the tasks involve defining a conceptual framework and methodological approach, designing an agent-based architecture for requirement analysis and restructuring, implementing a prototype workflow using Python with Open Web UI as front end, validating the approach on realistic textual specifications, and documenting the results in a Master thesis report with recommendations for future research

• The deliverables for this thesis include a written Master thesis in English, a prototype implementation demonstrating the feasibility of the workflow, supporting material such as diagrams, workflows, and test cases, documentation of the results, and recommendations for future research

Desired skills and qualifications

• Master student in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, AI, or a related field (d/f/m) 

• Strong interest in requirements engineering and model-based systems engineering (MBSE).

• Knowledge in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Large Language Models (LLMs), familiarity with multi-agent systems or a willingness to learn, skills in Python 

• Ability to work independently, think critically, and structure academic research

• Fluent in English and good German skills.
