The Software Development Engineer In Test for Customer Technology team will primarily handle writing automation framework and scripts for UI layer, API, Apex, and performance testing. The regression suite will be used for release cycles and alleviate manual validation processes currently used. The SDET will primarily focus on technologies such as Salesforce CRM, Segment CDP, Mulesoft and other SaaS tools deployed within the Customer Technology team. The role requires developing strong relationships with Stakeholders, Engineering, and IT teams to proactively plan and drive testing automation activities/tasks for projects and support work in order to attain technical excellence.
This role sits within IT and reports to the manager of Customer Technology. The Customer Technology team selects, implements, and maintains the applications, platforms, and tools that enable the Marketing, Customer Service and Commercial Operations teams to do their best work. We do this by building world class technical solutions that are prepared to scale, are developed on a common set of data, and are seamlessly integrated.
What you’ll be doing:
Automate testing for Salesforce, Segment, integrations build using Mulesoft and other applications used within Customer Technology
Build automated tools and frameworks for end to end testing using either Typescript, Python, Javascript, or Java
Create all forms of testing - Load Testing, Stress Testing, Performance, End to end etc
Develop and maintain automated test suites and provide extensive code coverage through testing automation execution
Partner with the development, program management, and design teams regarding technical implementation and user scenarios to deliver high quality software
Collaborate with the development team to understand architecture and service layer requirements
Develop system and system integration test automation architecture and strategy
Work with Page object model automation framework, suggesting improvements as appropriate
Create workflows for integrating different system automation scripts
Write reusable functions, both application-independent and application dependent
Debug existing scripts and interpret log files for maintenance
Create and execute SQL/SOQL queries and validate databases using an automation tool
Work closely with developers and testers as needed to create and maintain scripts, and log defects
What you must have:
Minimum 5 years of experience performing automated software testing for large enterprise platforms such as Salesforce CRM using tools such as Provar or Copado Robotic testing
Strong foundations in Salesforce architecture, design and development patterns including APEX, Visualforce and Lightning as well as experience with automated testing, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
Experience in setting up CICD pipeline for regression testing on remote servers (Jenkins, Bamboo, GitHub Actions)
Experience in testing web front/backend applications, mobile-web applications
Working experience in test analysis, design, automation, integration, and end-to-end testing as well as functional manual and API testing
Experience working in quick-paced Agile environment and SCRUM team format
Knowledge of source code and versions control management tools like GitHub, Bitbucket
Ability to thoroughly peer review code adhering to strict team, and industry wide coding standards and best practices to ensure there is little to no technical debt
Ability to educate the test team on automation framework, automated scripts maintenance
Clear understanding of source code re
