Plains All American is an industry-leading transportation and midstream provider specializing in transportation, storage, processing and marketing solutions for crude oil and natural gas liquids (NGLs). We own an extensive network of pipeline transportation, terminalling, storage and gathering assets in key crude oil and NGL producing basins and transportation corridors and at major market hubs in the United States and Canada. On average, Plains handles more than 6 million barrels per day of crude oil and NGL in its Transportation segment. The company is headquartered in Houston, Texas.

SUMMARY:

Position will be responsible for analysis of operational financial data, account reconciliation package compilation and review, preparation of journal entries, and various special projects within the Crude Oil Accounting group. Position will interact with the entire crude oil accounting group as well as operations, marketing and financial accounting. The position will report to the Supervisor of Crude Oil Accounting.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Preparation and self-review of journal entries

• Analysis of operational financial data to ensure accurate accounting

• Account reconciliation package compilation, review, and tie-out

• Perform monthly inventory accounting including communicating with crude oil schedulers and reconciling activity between various inventory systems

• Special projects as needed

• Process improvement evaluation and implementation

• Various other analysis and reporting for management

• Support for financial reporting, tax and internal/external auditors

• Proficient with MS Office products including advanced Excel skills

• Capable of establishing effective working relationships that promote teamwork and collaboration

• Analytical skills with the ability to understand and convey complex information in order to develop a solution or approach

• Effective in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, adapting to and managing change in a positive and proactive manner

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required

• 3 – 5 years of accounting experience preferred

• Midstream oil and gas experience a plus

• Oracle experience a plus

• Cleared criminal history (background) and satisfactory reference checks

• Compliance with the Company’s drug and alcohol policy including pre-employment D&A testing.
