We are seeking an experienced Professional Backend Engineer to join our team and help us build the future of the Swiss financing and insurance market by contributing to our technology stack. By joining SMG financing and insurance vertical, you will be part of the marketplace with high reach to our customers. Together we develop software solutions, so our customers can make the best decisions.

The role responsibilities include: 

• Design, develop and deploy engineering solutions for our customers. 
• Drive the development of backend architecture proposals, assessment of tools and frameworks, ensuring they meet both technical and business requirements. 
• You will engage with cross-functional engineers and stakeholders to develop concepts that advance the entire product pipeline. 
• Mentor, support and develop software engineers by providing advice, coaching and educational opportunities. 
• Encourage knowledge sharing and drive technical discussions within the team.
• Own our backend services and take care of their health and resilience. 
• Help improve internal processes, constantly striving for improvements. 

Our tech stack:

•  Backend in .net core written in C#, hosted hybrid in our own data centers and AWS 
• Frontend implemented with Nextjs, React, written in Typescript 
• CMS with Contentful 
• Databases include Microsoft SQL Server, Elasticsearch and Google BigQuery 
• Queues in RabbitMQ and Amazon SQS 
• Everything containerized or managed 
• Monitoring is done through Datadog and Sentry
• Reporting with Google Looker Studio

Qualifications

Must haves:

• are experienced with backend services, especially in .net

• are experienced with databases, especially with MS SQL Server and Elasticsearch
• enjoy working with remote colleagues
• are fluent in English as our team is international

It would be best if you:

• have worked in a start-up and know what it means to ship fast with high quality
• worked with cloud services, especially with AWS
• have full stack experience
• speak or at least understand German
• have experience with monitoring, alerting and reporting tool
• have full stack experience
