We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our Qualus Digital Solutions team.
Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our Digital Solutions team.
You will:
- Manage and coordinate all technical aspects of the project including planning, design, development, testing, and deployment.
- Develop and execute system build plans accounting for software architecture, information security, and hardware deployment.
- Work with the Project Manager and provide technical input into the overall project schedule, budget, resource requirements, and risk management.
- Lead engineering workshops on topics such as system design, data conversion, business process reviews, test, and validation planning, and change management.
- Design and configure SCADA/GMS/EMS/ADMS/OMS systems to meet the specific needs of our clients.
- Deploy and integrate SCADA/GMS/EMS/ADMS/OMS systems with other equipment and software.
- Provide training and support to clients during and after the implementation process.
- Collaborate with project teams and other stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of the project.
- Perform system and acceptance testing with the end customers.
- Test and validate system configurations to ensure they meet client requirements and industry standards including NERC CIP.
- Develop scripts and other solutions to integrate 3rd party systems.
- Identify and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the implementation process.
- Keep up to date with the latest developments in the field and ensure systems are implemented in accordance with industry best practices.
- Travel to customer sites and work directly with customers to successfully deliver, test, and integrate systems.
- Contribute to proposals, work plans, budgets, and schedules for services opportunities.
Qualifications
We’re looking for someone who:
- Enjoys being subject matter expert that can provide technical leadership regarding utility operational systems such as SCADA, GMS, EMS, ADMS, and OMS systems.
- Thrives in a collaborative environment working with various stakeholders and subject matter experts.
- Sees themselves as an integral member of the team with a desire to be involved in the full project implementation lifecycle including proposals, requirements, design, implementation, testing, support, and advisory services.
- Communicates well and can self-manage while working in our 100% remote team.
- Is curious and enjoy learning new methods and technologies while shipping quality solutions.
Minimum requirements include:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related area.
- 5+ years working in the electric utility industry; either at a utility, SCADA/ADMS vendor and/or as a consultant specializing in grid management applications.
- Experience and familiarity with delivering Emerson OSI monarch projects including utilization OSI Nexus
- Previous experience as a Project Engineer or Power Systems Engineer delivering OSI monarch solutions
- Fundamental understanding and knowledge to configure 1 or more of the following topics:
- Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA)
- Generation Management System (GMS)
- Energy Management System (EMS)
- Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS)
- Expertise with the OSI monarch product suite.
- Outage Management System (OMS)
- Experience using Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Strong systems background with the ability to troubleshoot across complex systems. <
