Engineering Manager - Data Platform

Salary Range: $160,000 - $210,000

Job Description

• Lead and grow the Data Platform team that has 4-5 members in 2024, ensuring the delivery of high-quality and highly scalable data solutions.

• Oversee the development and maintenance of our data platform and data pipelines, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.

• Ensure all data practices comply with HIPAA and other relevant data privacy regulations.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data solutions into our digital health products.

• Drive the adoption of best practices in data governance, data quality, and data lifecycle management.

• Mentor team members, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

• Stay updated with emerging trends in data technology and healthcare regulations.

• Promote a data-first and data-driven decision making culture within the company

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in data engineering with at least 1 year in a leadership role.

• Proven track record in managing data engineering teams and delivering large-scale data projects.

• Expertise in modern data technologies and architectures (e.g., Big Data, data storage, ETL, data warehousing, data lakes).

• Experience in common data frameworks/technologies such as Apache Spark, Delta Lake/Iceberg, Snowflake, etc 

• Proficiency in programming languages used in data engineering (e.g., Python, SQL).

• Experience with cloud computing services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their data-related services.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.

• Strong understanding of and experience with HIPAA compliance and other healthcare data regulations is a plus
