Mortgage Collection Senior Specialist

Purpose:
To collect delinquent mortgage loans.
Duties:
Assist members in all areas of mortgage delinquency and mortgage assistance consistent with SECU collection and loan policies.
Answer phone calls, place collection calls, and send correspondence as required.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
4-year degree, CCUE Certification, or Associate in Arts degree or Associate in Science degree via the North Carolina College Transfer Program (NC-CTP) preferred but not required.
Must have considerable knowledge of Credit Union lending operations, products and services offered.
Mortgage and consumer loan collection experience is preferred.
Makes collection decisions consistent with SECU collection policies.
Meets compliance and regulatory standards in terms of collection, delinquency control, and documentation.
Excellent communication skills, and a friendly helpful manner are essentials.
Must be willing to engage in ongoing training and professional development.
Work in unison with other collectors and senior staff.
Work closely with branches on collection referrals and assistance requests.
Strong relationship management skills to facilitate and support communications between members and collection staff.
Should have basic computer skills.
Must be able to speak English fluently.
Must be able to cooperate and collaborate with co-workers and others.
Must adhere to the work schedule and attendance policies established by the Credit Union.
Must be cordial in all interactions with members and co-workers.
Note: The Collections Department may require future early evening and weekend hours.
Job Environment:
Work from home infrastructure with training and meetings conducted at central locations. Must have quiet, private working environment free from noise and disruption in order to maintain a professional at home working arrangement. High-speed internet access (5 MPBS or higher) required.
Physical Demands:
Uses hands and fingers to press keys on a computer keyboard to enter data and retrieve information.
Sits 80%, stands 10%, and walks 10% of the time.
Must communicate clearly to answer member questions.
Must listen intently to members questions and concerns in order to facilitate quality service.
Visual acuity is necessary in completing forms for members.
Must be able to comprehend and carry out verbal and written instructions.
