Senior Software Engineer/Developer

Job Description:

Position Description: 

Delivers functional software from sprint-to-sprint and release-to-release, using Git, Java, Jenkins, Docker, Azure, and Restful Application Programming Interfaces (APIs). Develops and deploys 12-factor, containerized APIs, using Docker and Kubernetes to Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Azure. Ensures quality assurance readiness of software including end-to-end tests, unit tests, and automation. Provides business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications.  

Primary Responsibilities: 

• Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts. 

• Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms. 

• Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives. 

• Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation. 

• Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing. 

• Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives. 

• Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems. 

• Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope. 

• Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project. 

• Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives. 

Education and Experience: 

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing and building automated testing suites in a financial services environment.  

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing and building automated testing suites in a financial services environment. 

Skills and Knowledge: 

Candidate must also possess: 

• Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) performing Java/J2EE application development according to Test Driven and Behavioral Driven Development methodologies (TDD and BDD), using Junit and PowerMockito frameworks; deploying Web applications using WebSphere and Tomcat servers within Unix and Windows environments; and performing application development and debugging, using software development tools/editors -- Eclipse, Spring Tool Suite, and WebStorm.   

• DE building automation frameworks using XML, HTML, JSON, Cucumber, Junit, and Maven; building automation scripts consisting of Selenium Web driver and Selenium Grid for automation, using Cucumber and Serenity architecture; and performing performance testing using JMeter.
