Position Overview:
Rent the Runway’s Exclusive Designs Team is seeking an entrepreneurial Merchandising Assistant with great energy and sharp interpersonal skills. The Merchandise Assistant provides day-to-day support to the Exclusive Designs team and is responsible for weekly reporting, maintaining product details, inventory maintenance, data entry and general merchandising support. Our team is filled with passionate go-getters and is extremely collaborative - you will work with almost every team within the organization. We are in search of someone who can multitask, has a keen desire to learn, grow and engage with our highly driven team..
This is a temporary position and the expected contract length is 3 months.
What You’ll Do:
- Own and update all product attribute tags in our internal systems ensuring accuracy
- Responsible for creation and maintenance of purchase orders
- Set up new items and vendors in our internal systems; update style information including any price adjustments as needed
- Track and follow up on open purchase orders to ensure timely delivery
- Generate weekly selling reports
- Track and coordinate sample delivery while maintaining organization in our sample closet
- Provide administrative support to the Exclusive Designs Team as necessary
- Handle other responsibilities and projects as assigned
About You:
- Bachelor's degree and experience in a retail or fashion related industry role
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Google sheets and PowerPoint
- Strong communication skills
- Strong analytical, organizational and time management skills
- Demonstrate initiative and exhibit a sense of urgency
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced dynamic environment
- Excellent attention to detail required
- Able to comprehend the basic product development process
- Understand the importance of your responsibilities and the impact they have on the overall business
- Contribute to and work well within a team environment
- Has an awareness of the changing internal/external business environment (emerging fashion trends, customer trends, supply chain challenges, sustainability initiatives)
- This job may require some physical labor with the ability to lift boxes up to 40 pounds

The anticipated base salary for this position is $28/hr. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position,
