Job Description

AECOM Hunt is seeking a highly talented Assistant Superintendent/Safety, Health & Environment

to join our Hunt Construction group. This position will be supporting an industrial manufacturing facility at our Lake Orion, MI project site location.

Job Summary:

Responsible for the organization, direction, supervision and coordination of construction activities on a construction project site as delineated in the applicable project execution procedures, site specific safety plan and project execution plan.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assists the project Superintendent and/or Project Manager by providing on-site administrative and technical management for a wide range of construction projects.

• Responsible for the organization and direction of construction activities within assigned area of responsibility, which may be a single area, multi-area or a multi-discipline construction project.

• Responsible for and ensures project safety compliance. 

• Must be knowledgeable of applicable safety riders for area of responsibility.

• May coordinate with client’s resident representatives on jobsite activities within assigned area of operations.

• Responsibilities are to ensure assigned jobsite operations are in compliance with design/specifications and to quality standards.

• Interfaces with other administrative field staff, field management staff and particularly the Project Sr. Safety Manager, Project Superintendents and Project Manager in a coordinated effort.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirement:

  • BA/BS + 4 years of relevant industrial construction superintendent/safety experience or AS + 6 years of relevant experience or HS + 8 years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualification:

  • Industrial facility construction project safety management experience

  • Previous GM experience

  • Experience reviewing Pre-Task plans / Job Hazard Analysis

  • Performing Safety Observation Tours

  • Evaluating Contractors safety plans and performance

  • Certified OSHA 10-hour General Industry

  • Certified OSHA 30-hour General Industry

  • Knowledge of GM’s Safety Contract Manager (SCM) program
