The Impact You’ll Make

At Lam, as a Supply Chain Business Manager, you play a crucial role in partnering with suppliers to drive operational excellence. Your data-driven approach ensures effective planning, scheduling, and monitoring material movement through our dynamic global production cycle. You’ll benchmark and monitor supplier performance to manage risk. By driving continuous supplier process improvements, you support the productivity and efficiency of Lam's operations.

 

This role is within the Supply Chain Operations team and is instrumental in helping Supply Chain navigate through record ramps and other operational complexities thrown our way. In this position, you will help manage global factories and have responsibility for multiple suppliers within the Powerbox and Frame Commodity.

What You’ll Do

• Plans, schedules, and monitors the movement of materials through the production cycle to determine required materials purchases.
• Defines metrics and monitors supplier performance against these expectations to ensure continuous supplier improvement. Regularly evaluate quality and performance benchmarks, and the risks associated with the preferred supply base selection. 
• Continuously working on process improvement to deploy and develop best known methods related to procurement, inventory control (e.g., JIT, Kanban, min/max), and manufacturing strategies.
• Established goals with supplier to ensure material delivery meets forecasted demand.
• Represents supplier business management on a cross-functional commodity teams that focuses on supply challenges, and to ensure internal/external customer needs are satisfied.
• Works with engineering and the supplier to resolve complex problems to ensure on-time delivery of critical material to support customer and company requirements.
• Develops presentation, white papers, and process flow charts to support continuous process improvement projects.
• Works with supplier to monitor product cost, preventing negative PPV and supporting cost reduction efforts.
• Drive the improvement of the suppliers’ manufacturing processes to ensure product quality and on-time-delivery.

Who We’re Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing Operations, Business, or related discipline.
• Twelve (12) years' experience managing complex projects or programs in high technology industry.
• Experience contributing to a culture of creativity and accountability in project teams.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver results within matrixed organization.
• Creative thinking, strong problem-solving skills, ability to lead a team for problem solving.
• Strong data analysis skills and experience extracting information from data.
• Demonstrated judgement to effectively communicate through email, presentations, face to face, and collaboration tools to maintain alignment between team members, project executives and project stakeholders in a dynamic, geographically distributed and culturally diverse organization.
• Expert user in SAP, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project.
• 10-20% travel may be required.
