JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Summary/Objective

The AWS Cloud Engineer is an individual contributor responsible for defining, standardizing and governing technology and security architecture for key IT and Digital Business initiatives in an Azure/AWS Cloud and Hybrid Cloud solutions environment. A Cloud Engineer’s responsibilities include deploying and debugging systems, as well as executing new cloud initiatives.

• Ensure alignment of technology solutions to business objectives through implementation.
• Assists business systems analysts to produce non-functional requirements for systems development initiatives where needed.
• Recommend technology improvements or corrections to improve performance of operational systems
• Work with Enterprise Architects and Cloud Architects to produce future state architectures and transition architectures
• Assist in maintaining ACA’s Technology catalog
• Collaborate internally to develop scalable, maintainable, consistent, highly available storage and virtualization architectures that meet business objectives and set relevant service-level agreements
• Assist in producing technology / infrastructure architecture drawings
• Implement redundant systems and policies based on provided specs and/or designs for disaster recovery and archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of appliances and stored data assets.
• Collaborate with Server, Storage & Network Teams to gather metrics to show trends of current technology solutions
• Ensure technology solutions comply with ACA compliance and risk management policies
• Identify, analyze, and resolve infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues

Qualifications

• Associates of Science in Computer Science, Information management, or similar discipline preferred
• AWS, Azure certification preferred. Relevant to duties of Cloud Engineer.
• Experience in an infrastructure and hybrid cloud environment preferred
• Strong scripting and 1-2 years of experience in one or more languages such as Node.js, PowerShell, YAML, JSON, TypeScript, and Python are preferred.
• Experience with systems integration and service oriented architecture models.
• Experience in Financial Systems is highly desirable – Loan Origination, Underwriting, Funding or Servicing
• Previous role as systems or network engineer or systems developer
• Experience provisioning virtualized infrastructures – Cloud, Hybrid and other patterns
• Proven analytical, strategic vision drawing on strong problem-solving abilities.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, high level of professionalism and interpersonal skills, and excellent critical thinking, analytical, and problem solving skills
• Ability to conceive solutions from elaboration of requirements
• Ability to maintain composure and multitask in a fast paced environment

 

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

Work Environment and Physical Demands

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

 

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days of work are Monday through Friday.  The daily schedule may vary from 8 am to 5 pm or 9 am to 6 pm.  Hours may vary or exceed 40 in any given week depending on the needs of the business.

 

Travel

Up to 5% travel is expected for this position.
