PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR – 1st / 2nd Shift

We are looking for a Production Supervisor for our Frankfort, Indiana plant, supervising primarily 1st shift but will also require coverage into the 2nd shift.  This position will report to the Operations Manager and will directly supervise 30 - 40 employees.  The Production Supervisor ensures a safe work environment, drives quality improvements, develops a qualified workforce, reduces operating costs, inventories and lead times through continuous improvements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participates in training to produce a quality product / services, uses preventative measures to ensure the customer requirements and company standards are met.
  • Comply with legal and other requirements to avoid injury and/or ill health to themselves and others.
  • Understands preventative measures and creates a safe and healthy environment by having the ability to identify potential emergency situations and reports all incidents to supervisor/ manager.
  • Adhere to the facility’s quality, environmental, health and safety policies and procedures that are identified by the company management systems.
  • Responsibilities include: planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.  Excellent attendance is required.             
  • Works closely with the Logistics Department and the previous shift supervisors in scheduling and monitoring the flow of quality production parts from start to finish in all areas of the manufacturing plant.
  • Ensures production teams are performing work in conformance with Work Instructions.
  • Interprets specifications and job orders to employees and assigns duties.
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Coordinates and completes an accurate and thorough production report for the entire shift.
  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, and/or employees.
