Job Description
The Sr. Field Engineer will be an Engineering representative for the Workplace Security Systems team for NBCUniversal East region site projects and systems support of physical security functions.
Responsibilities:
- Provide end-user support of applications and assist with trouble-shooting issues for applications used by Physical Security operations
- Provide technical expertise to other region field engineers supporting enterprise system
- Manage day to day site issues and primary systems Enterprise Lenel, Genetec Security Center and Enterprise SAFE
- System monitoring – Lenel, Genetec – cameras; archivers; readers, panels
- Liaison between business Security Operations, Engineering, and IT
- Incident Response – provide remote & on premises support for hardware and software issues
- Manage and support multiple NBCUniversal projects
- 24 X 7 systems support on a rotation basis & serve as escalation lead for engineers on call
- Change Management – assist with system testing
- Align vendor activities based on business priorities
- Coordinate application installs with local desktop client services
- Manage demand via Service Now ticketing system
- Develop and partner with security operations and third-party vendors to generate Scope of Work documents for site expansion
- Document business processes and requirements in the sourcing of new technology solutions
- Provide ongoing engagement and communications to business and engineering management
- Collaborate with other IT and technology groups to identify achievable solutions, manage scope
- Ability to generate and manage project status reports, meeting minutes
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects and initiatives
- Participate in Special Events to fulfill Physical Security operations needs
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, Smartsheet
- Project management skills from physical security design to implementation
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Ability to travel as needed, including overnight stays as needed
- Must be willing to work onsite at the New York, NY office or at the Englewood Cliffs, NJ office as needed
- Must be willing to work weeknights and weekends as part of ongoing project deployments, site conversions and software upgrades
- Work experience of 5+ years working with Physical Access Control and Video (CCTV) Systems (i.e., Lenel, Genetec) and peripheral devices
- Experience and proven track record with managing projects tied to physical security site buildouts
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrates negotiation and problem resolution skills
Desired Characteristics:
- Media Entertainment industry experience strongly desired
- Working knowledge of SDLC processes
- Technical skills: SQL Server, mobile devices, IIS, Windows, Cloud computing, VMWare
- Technical toolsets: Service Now, SharePoint, Project and Portfolio Management (PPM), Teams, Smartsheet
Additional Requirements:
- Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.
