Description

Job Summary   This position is responsible for maintenance and repair of both Housing buildings.   Duties/Responsibilities This position completes minor plumbing, electrical, HVAC, lock, lighting, life safety, and appliance repairs, as well as performs preventative maintenance tasks, and assists in maintaining a proper inventory of parts and supplies.
  • Position assists with daily swimming pool chemical readings which requires Manager of Pool Operation certification from the City of Dallas.
  • Position requires some after-hours response to maintenance emergencies.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Must be able to efficiently manage a demanding workload.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Must be willing to respond to after-hours maintenance emergencies.
  • Must be able to work safely in potentially hazardous situations.
  • Must have driver’s license.
Education and Experience
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Some trade experience.

  • Pulling: Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
  • Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles.
  • Fingering: Picking, pinching, tying or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arms as in handling
  • Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
  • Feeling: Perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.
  • Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
