About the role

EY focuses on high-ethical standards and integrity among its employees and expects all candidates to demonstrate these qualities.  At EY, you’ll have the chance to build a career as unique as you are, with the global scale, support, inclusive culture and technology to become the best version of you. And we’re counting on your unique voice and perspective to help EY become even better, too. Join us and build an exceptional experience for yourself, and a better working world for all.

EY is a leader in serving the global financial services marketplace and the only professional services firm with a separate business unit dedicated to the financial services industry – the Financial Services Organization (FSO). Our focused model and bold ambition have put us at the center of the events that continue to reshape and redefine our industry, working side by side with a range of clients from our most venerable institutions to dynamic new entrants across Banking and Capital Markets, Wealth and Asset Management and Insurance. Our purpose is to help build a financial services industry in which financial institutions are trusted and flourish, and the global economy is healthy, growing and secure. If you have a passion for rallying together to solve complex challenges, then come join our dynamic FSO team!

As private equity investments in portfolio companies close, our clients quickly transition from the deal to implementing operations plans to drive value, of which tax is a key component. Our clients also look to us to identify tax planning strategies and to develop and implement tax operations plans that create value for them. In your role as a Private Equity Tax Operations Senior, you will see this firsthand by being immersed in the evolving tax environment through teaming with our global private equity professionals to develop and oversee the implementation of post-transaction tax operating plans, prepare income tax filings, prepare and audit income tax provisions, consult on planning opportunities, and coach and develop staff on your engagement teams while working on globally active business entities.

The opportunity

The Private Equity Tax Operations Senior role involves dynamic tax work and visibility into the full life cycle of private equity-backed companies across a wide range of business industries and varied entity structures (e.g., corporate, partnership, domestic, foreign). In addition to the day-to-day US federal and state tax compliance, you will be exposed to the tax technical implications resulting from an acquisition, refinancing, restructuring or divesture of a company, including but not limited to transaction cost analysis, debt analysis, accounting methods review, asset allocation, and gain calculations. You will be part of a growing global team, acting as a key point of contact for a wide range of clients and colleagues. This is an opportunity for cross-border and cross-functional teaming within EY. In return, you can expect plenty of support designed with your own personal skills and experience

EY is a dynamic place to develop not only your technical tax knowledge, but also your professional leadership and business acumen. Our market-leading approach combines extensive local compliance and accounting experience in over 120 countries with standard global compliance and tax accounting processes and web-based tools.

Your key responsibilities

You will spend your time supporting client engagements by coordinating day-to-day interactions with clients regarding all tax compliance and consulting projects, reviewing staff work product, driving delivery of services to meet deadlines, developing internal team members, and tracking engagement economics. You'll continuously build on technical competence by keeping up to date on trends, developments and technical authorities and apply them to complex situations. In this role, you will also be tasked with identifying and resolving tax technical issues and sharing insights to improve our efficiency.
