IIn this position...
Reporting to the PD Indirect Engineering Efficiency Chief Engineer, this position supports identifying, developing, and implementing projects and processes that enable Ford PD to achieve its cost objectives. These projects have specific objectives and cost targets that are managed in a lean, focused environment. Over 2023/24CY, these projects have included optimizing PD Purchased Service Spending, Leveraging FBS/GES within PD, and optimizing/managing the ED&T Process. Key aspects of the position include:
- Direct interface with Key internal (Finance, Purchasing, PD Functions, Transformation Teams) and External (Suppliers / etc.) partners
- Define and drive project deliverables. Support senior management report-outs, including cost day
- Partner with key operating stakeholders to manage cross-functional dependencies. Leverage internal expert network to drive solutions
- Own assessment of project status to support lean-based metrics. Track benefits/metrics with key finance counterparts
What you'll do...
- Support day-to-day implementation and execution of a specific project or cost element
- Build relationships as one of the subject matter experts for this project
- Lead key aspects of project management and support interface across functional teams
- Work closely with partners to facilitate issue resolution and escalation as needed; Develop recommendations where appropriate
- Support governance processes and material preparation for specific cost elements or projects
- Examples of Project responsibility could include:
- Develop key principles and metrics to deliver PD Transformation targets for 23/24CY purchase service targets, improve purchase service footprint, and implement FBS, LLC, and other opportunities
- Implement top-down targets to all teams within PD, drive prioritization and assessment of business-critical spending to companywide targets
- Manage PD Purchase Service Implementation
- Develop Plan, Process, and Complete Functional Reviews for PD Purchase Service deliverables
You'll have...
- Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of experience working within Business offices, Supply Chain and/or Product Development
- 3 + years of experience leading direct and/or cross-functional teams.

- Effective communication skills, both written and oral; ability to influence outcomes
- Process-oriented; organized; strong project management skills
- Systemic thinking; ability to synthesize quickly and influence decisions
- Strong business acumen; cross-functional experience an asset
- Ability to drive results in an unstructured and cross-functional environment
- Data-driven and strong experience in MS Excel and MS Office Program execution
