About the role

We’re seeking a strategic and hands-on leader to build and scale a world-class training and certification program for our autonomous vehicle (AV) test and field teams. You’ll be responsible for designing role-based training pathways, certification frameworks, and compliance-aligned content to ensure safety, performance, and operational readiness across teams.

This role is onsite 5 days a week at our Fort Worth, TX office!

What you'll do

• Develop and lead a scalable training and certification program for AV test and field operations.
• Define and implement core training domains: AV systems, test protocols, safety, compliance, and incident response.
• Establish training metrics to track effectiveness, retention, and team readiness.
• Oversee onboarding, refresher, and recertification programs.
• Manage training staff, vendors, and optimize LMS and training tools.
• Ensure alignment with internal safety standards and external regulations (DOT, NHTSA, FMCSA, SAE J3018, AVSC).
• Collaborate with Safety, Legal, Engineering, and People Ops to ensure content accuracy and compliance.
• Build structured growth and certification pathways for technical and field roles.
• Continuously improve curricula based on feedback, performance data, and technology updates.
• Prepare the training program for scale through automation, documentation, and knowledge systems.

What we're looking for

• 7+ years in technical training, L&D, or program development—ideally in AV, robotics, aerospace, or automotive sectors.
• Experience managing training for engineering or field operations teams in high-compliance environments.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory standards (DOT, NHTSA, etc.) and AV safety best practices.
• Proven leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and people management skills.
• Proficiency with LMS platforms, certification systems, and scalable training infrastructure.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Bonus Points

• Background in AV engineering, testing, or operations.
• Experience working with AVSC, SAE J3018, or similar standards.
• History of building and scaling structured training and certification programs for an autonomous vehicle/trucking company
