AREA: Maintenance                                                      

REPORTS TO: Maintenance Manager

GENERAL PURPOSE:

The Maintenance Specialist goals are to support and/or lead initiatives that control inventory such that turns are maximized, items are stocked that ensure maximum up-time on machinery, number of items are reduced by identifying universal parts/components across machinery/equipment based on planner’s / Engineering recommendations, of inventory is reduced, and operation of the tool crib is as efficient as possible for both the crib and its customers.

Responsibilities

  • The Stores Lead 1 & 2 is responsible for the overall operation of crib/stores activities to ensure inventory accuracy, timely ordering, give direction/mentor Crib Attendants while meeting the needs of the site’s MRO and operational supply requirements. 
  • Have a working knowledge of production, safety, and quality aspects of the crib services.

  • Determine proper minimum/maximum requirements of stocked materials and adjust respective material master accordingly
  • Replenishment of non-stock / free issue items on a timely basis
  • Process auto-replenishment requisitions from SAP of stocked items and generate purchase orders for items tied to respective operating agreements
  • Generate requisitions for non-stocked spot buy items
  • Oversee receiving process of MRO and Spot Buy Items
  • Oversee disbursements of material ensuring units of measure / costing is accurate

  • Ensure proper labeling and storage of stocked items in respective bins, racks, and other storage locations
  • Obtain global material codes for new stocked /non-stocked MRO & operating supplies and extend codes into SAP
  • Process web cycles for orders processed by all crib personnel and investigate invoice issues
  • Create good working relationships with vendors/suppliers
  • Oversee vending machine program; ordering, disbursements, setting up new items
  • Ensure new materials are crater checked and, when necessary, conductivity approved
  • Ensure any new PPE requests have been approved by the safety department prior to ordering
  • Expedite orders to meet unforeseen conditions
  • Clean working area including crib storeroom equipment and floors
  • Lead by example with 5S, wearing of PPE, safety, and housekeeping practices
  • Promote and facilitate effective communication, and Fair Treatment???
  • Drive Continuous Improvement activities
  • Adhere to customer requirements and company policies
  • Adhere to and support the Environmental Management System per ISO-14001 requirements and Federal Regulations
  • Strong sense of integrity
  • Takes responsibility for actions and duties
  • Manufacturing plant floor, characterized by temperature extremes, loud noise, and considerable tow motor traffic
  • Must be able to perform all essential functions as appropriate on the plant floor, in meetings, and with team members, leadership, customers and suppliers

EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE:

Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILS:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. 
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts,
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
