Overall Scope:

 

The Director, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) is responsible for developing, implementing, and leading the Environmental, Health & Safety strategy, programs, and policies across our North America sites in Austin, TX; Brighton and Mississauga, ON. This role has a strong emphasis on environmental compliance, environmental stewardship, and sustainability, while also ensuring robust occupational health and safety programs across manufacturing, office, and distribution operations.

 

The Director will ensure compliance with all applicable environmental regulations, occupational health standards, and safety requirements, while advancing a proactive culture of environmental responsibility, risk reduction, and continuous improvement. This leader will work closely with site EHS teams, operations, legal, HR, engineering, supply chain, and external stakeholders, including Dover Corporate EHS, to strengthen environmental performance, maintain regulatory compliance, and support operational excellence.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned): 

 

Environmental Leadership and Compliance

 

•    Lead the development and execution of the North America EHS strategy, with a strong focus on environmental compliance, environmental risk management, and sustainability performance.
•    Establish, implement, and maintain environmental policies, standards, procedures, and management systems across all manufacturing, office, and distribution facilities.
•    Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, provincial, and local environmental regulations and requirements, including but not limited to: air emissions; wastewater and stormwater; hazardous waste; chemical storage and handling; spill prevention and response; EPCRA/SARA reporting; permitting, inspections, and recordkeeping.
•    Oversee environmental permitting and compliance obligations for all North America sites, ensuring permits are obtained, maintained, and renewed on time and that all operating conditions are met.
•    Direct environmental audits, compliance assessments, and risk reviews to identify gaps, drive corrective actions, and prevent regulatory non-compliance.
•    Serve as the internal subject matter expert on environmental regulations and provide interpretation, guidance, and practical implementation support to site and business leaders.
•    Lead environmental incident response, investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action processes, including escalation and reporting protocols where required.
•    Partner with operations, facilities, engineering, and site leadership to evaluate environmental risks associated with process changes, capital projects, expansions, and new product or facility initiatives.
•    Drive standardization and continuous improvement of environmental programs related to waste management, recycling, pollution prevention, resource conservation, and environmental reporting.
•    Oversee environmental data collection, validation, and reporting, including emissions, waste, water, energy, and other sustainability metrics required for internal and external reporting.
•    Act as the primary point of contact for environmental regulatory agencies, inspections, audits, notices, and compliance matters.

 

Health and Safety Leadership

 

•    Provide strategic leadership for occupational health and safety programs to build and sustain a culture committed to safe work practices, incident prevention, employee wellbeing, and regulatory compliance.
•    Establish and maintain EHS standards, policies, and procedures across all site
