About the Role
Gap Inc. Human Resources is seeking exceptional talent for the role of Director of Talent Development. This position operates in a highly collaborative, dynamic, and fast-paced environment, focusing on implementing talent development solutions to establish Gap Inc. as the Career Destination for Fashion. This role leads learning initiatives for Gap, Old Navy, Banana Republic, and Athleta field stores.The Director of Talent Development, Field, will act as the strategic leader in Talent Development (TD) and Talent Management (TM) priorities across our field network. Reporting to the Head of Talent Development, the Director will collaborate closely with key stakeholders, relevant HR Business Leaders (HRBL), Store Operations, and Field Leadership Teams to design and implement learning strategies that align with business and transformation goals.
This role will also partner closely with the TM Center of Excellence (COE) through a Community of Practice for capability building, ensuring that TD solutions are consistently implemented across brands. The position supports learning, talent, and leadership development, contributing to Gap Inc.’s vision of being a high-performing house of iconic American brands.
In this role, you will work in a highly collaborative, dynamic, and fast paced environment to connect business outcomes to capability development and deployment in order to drive a high-performance workforce. By providing talent development expertise, you will unleash leadership and functional potential to enable our talent strategies and practices.
What You'll Do
What You’ll Do
- Build strategic partnerships across People & Culture, brand or functional business leaders and other Gap Inc HR partners to develop and execute high impact talent strategies
- Create talent development employee journey from hire to retire
- Ensure alignment with across all brand stores leadership teams to deploy strategies focused on investing in and building talent, taking into consideration relevant budget, resources, LRPs, and priorities.
- Advise, consult and coach leaders on talent development capabilities to achieve specific business outcomes
- Design, create and facilitate inclusive employee developmental training and experiences to aid in employee growth
- Create and build integrated short- and long-range Talent Development strategies to support business performance, build functional competencies and skills, and enhance leadership capability
- Manage project and program development and delivery for a seamless employee experience
- Partner with stakeholders to track progress against talent development programs, escalate risks, and adjust repeatedly to reduce talent gaps.
- Leverage talent data and insights to partner with stakeholders to implement decisions that increase employee capability and engagement
- Collaborate and lead others in key initiatives and their implementation
- Manage operations of employee experience, budget, planning and metrics to drive results

- Champion consistency across all Brands in the talent development space to ensure an equitable employee experience
