Job Description:
Perkins Coie is seeking a qualified, dynamic individual to take on the role of the Financial Services Sector Content Strategist who supports our Financial Services Sector lawyers by creating high-quality thought leadership, marketing, and business development content. This role is critical to enhancing the firm’s visibility, supporting client engagement, and positioning our lawyers as industry leaders, and serves as an information conduit to facilitate cross-practice and cross-industry initiatives and projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
These essential functions are primary job duties that incumbents must be able to perform unassisted or with some reasonable accommodation.
- Research, draft, and edit blog posts, client alerts, and white papers on financial services regulatory updates and industry trends for the Thought Leadership & Blog content.
- Develop brochures, one-pagers, website content, and other marketing materials to highlight the firm’s sector-specific expertise.
- Manage and oversee strategy and execution of sector and industry group online presence.
- Coordinate firm website representation, social media strategy and content, and firm‑sponsored publications (e.g., thought leadership, updates, announcements, etc.).
- In coordination with the proposal team, create and refine content for client pitches, RFPs, and proposals to support business development efforts.
- Review and approve submissions for legal industry rankings, directories, and awards.
- In coordination with the competitive intelligence team, monitor and curate relevant industry news, regulatory developments, and market trends for discussion in sector group meetings.
- Interface and coordinate with the firm’s public relations team to build the sector group external image, handle media relations, and respond to inquiries to maintain a positive reputation.
SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED
- Exceptional writing, editing, and research skills, with the ability to translate complex legal and financial topics into clear, engaging content.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality, client‑facing materials.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adapt to shifting priorities.
- Experience with legal marketing, business development, or thought leadership content preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with content management systems and digital marketing tools.
- Thorough understanding of sector.
- Thought leadership and bringing insights to firm lawyers regarding what is happening in the sector.
- Willingness and commitment to work outside normal business hours as needed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, while those with advanced degree (MBA, JD, or other relevant graduate degree) are preferred. Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years of experience with content development, and those with experience in legal or professional services are preferred.

This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, 401(k) plan, medical, dental, and vision insurance, accrued paid time off plan starting at 20 days annually, personal medical and parental leave, up to 10 paid holidays, and family care benefits. This position may be filled in the following location(s). The listed compensation range reflects the typical pay for this role, though it is rare for new hires to receive an offer at the top of the range. Actual compensation may vary depending on experience, skills, market conditions, and internal equity.
San Francisco Bay Area compensation range: $150,280 to $234,670 annually
Colorado compensation range: $117,740 to $183,860 annually
Illinois compensation range: $124,260 t
