Temporary High School Summer Camp Director:
The Temporary High School Summer Camp Director for the program works closely with the health director, chaperones, and Cornell staff to ensure the safety and well‑being of all campers. This role requires staying overnight with participants in a Cornell residence hall for the duration of the program (July 13–25) and accompanying the group on a field trip to Niagara Falls. The Camp Director is also expected to participate in pre‑program planning to become familiar with schedules, policies, and logistical details.
The dates of this position will be from June 1, 2026 – July 31, 2026.
This position is not benefits‑eligible and does not qualify for visa sponsorship or relocation assistance.
Salary for the full duration of the camp is $4500.
Required Qualifications:
- At least 25 years old
- Holds a bachelor’s degree
- Minimum 24 weeks of administrative or supervisory experience in camping or an equivalent field. [health.ny.gov]
- Must pass:
- New York State Central Register Database (SCR) clearance for child abuse/maltreatment.
- Criminal background screening conducted by NYSDOH. [health.ny.gov]
- Must not appear on the NYS Sex Offender Registry. [health.ny.gov]
- Must take the First Aid and CPR/AED training with State-approved vendors.
