We are seeking a professional like you to join our Performance Chemical Division supporting our Operations team at the McIntosh, Alabama site. In this role, you will provide engineering support as well as project management for capital projects.  This will involve tasks such as process design, process simulations, process safety, and environmental permitting among others.

As a Project & Process Engineer you create chemistry by...

 

• Developing and evaluating alternative technical solutions to challenging problems using strong engineering skills and tools such as process simulation software with the goal of establishing the lowest cost project scopes that meet schedule and functionality objectives.
• Providing Process Design Engineering and Project Management for capital projects by preparing process flow diagrams (PFD), piping and instrument diagrams (P&ID), process simulations, material and energy balances, process specifications for equipment and instruments and safety review documentation.
• Assisting during the construction, check-out and start-up phases for capital projects. Providing field support and reviewing the work to ensure it is installed and functions according to the design documents. You will also assist operations with the expected result of a successful start-up.
• Maintaining and generating process safety information by validating and/or performing relief device and flash back protection calculations as well as updating piping and instrument diagrams.
• Supporting environmental permitting for both new and existing installations by performing emission calculations and reviewing permit conditions. You will also serve as a resource for safety, health and environmental reviews and audits.
• Providing technical support and assisting in process troubleshooting related to improving efficiency, capability, and safety.

If you...

 

• Hold a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
• Possess 2-5 years’ experience working within Engineering Department in a chemical plant
• Have good communication and computer skills
• Are a self-starter with high level of results orientation and good teamwork skills
