Position Summary
A media production intern will work in broadcast engineering, video production, audio recording, and motion graphic design to fulfill university departmental requests. These roles include producing, production set-up, directing, camera work, media logging, audio mixing, and editing.
Job Description
- Help create a new training course that will be on Canvas.
- Supervise and lead large productions and deliver content to the corresponding department.
- Deliver a minimum of one large university video per semester and summer break (a part from the department and university requests)
- Consistently produce videos without error that will be published on university socials and website.
Knowledge and Skills
- Interns should have video camera skills. Know how to properly expose an image by manually adjusting the aperture, shutter speed, and ISO on a camera.
- Familiar with video editing software and have editing skills. Media Productions uses applications from the
- Adobe Creative Cloud Suite such as Premiere Pro and After Effects, as well as DaVinci Resolve. Interns will be trained to work with broadcast equipment and work on a live production.
- Must be very organized and able to meet deadlines. Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Working Conditions
- This position will be performed both in an air conditioned office environment as well as on set outside.
- Job hazards include but are not limited to possible strain from lifting and carrying equipment up to 50 lbs. The incumbent may be subject to dust and odors.
- The noise level in the work
- environment is usually low/moderate.
Work Schedule
- Once hired, intern will work out a schedule with the managers between 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
- The incumbent will sometimes work on weekends, holidays, and outside the normal 9-5 hours.
