It is also an exciting opportunity to support the Geoscience department’s ambition of becoming a centre of excellence within the renewables industry, exploring innovative technology, developing best practices and pushing boundaries as we help Vattenfall achieve its vision of transitioning society towards a fossil-free future.</p><p>Business Area (BA) Wind is responsible for the development, construction and operation of wind power (onshore and offshore) as well as other non-hydro renewable activities like solar and batteries.</p><p>The location of this position is flexible with Kolding (DK), German (DE), Netherlands (NL) or London/Hexham (UK) being our preferred locations. For the right <strong>Senior Engineer – Geotechnical Site Assessment </strong>candidate we are willing to consider appointments within reasonable commuting distance of any of our European offices.<br/>  <br/> <strong>Your role</strong></p><p>Senior Engineers are high-level members of the Geoscience team, responsible for planning, managing and supplying packages of technical deliverables to our offshore wind farm projects. In collaboration with other internal experts and external suppliers, you will contribute your technical expertise and project delivery skills throughout the development and construction phases of our wind farm portfolio.</p><p>This role will expose you to many aspects of the offshore wind journey and your main duties will be to:</p><ul><li>Represent the Geoscience team as a technical authority on geotechnical design, able to advise, educate and inform others within and outside the organization.</li><li>Act as a role model and take personal responsibility, offering expert geotechnical engineering knowledge to projects.</li><li>Provide geotechnical support to wind farm assets under development, construction, and especially during installation and operation.</li><li>Address geotechnical issues related to subsea cable, foundation design and site investigation.</li><li>Advise geotechnical design tasks, including complex soil-structure interaction analyses.</li><li>Help to develop and manage ground models correlating geotechnical and geophysical datasets.</li><li>Oversee contractors and consultants acting on our behalf to ensure compliance with health &amp; safety, environmental and quality standards.</li><li>Prepare and review geotechnical reports, including feasibility studies, interpretative reports and design concepts.</li><li>Support the external certification process for geotechnical outputs.</li><li>Devise budgets, strategies and processes to optimize fieldworks campaigns.</li><li>Evaluate results for compliance with technical specifications and contracts.</li><li>Evaluate new technology and methods whilst proactively supporting collaborative research and development opportunities with academic institutions and industry working groups.</li><li>Collaborate on the ongoing development and application of in-house geotechnical design tools.</li><li>Develop standard procedures and deliverables to optimize the Geoscience team’s performance.</li></ul><p><strong>Location  </strong><br/> The location of this position is flexible with Kolding/ Copenhagen (DK), Berlin/ Hamburg (DE), Amsterdam (NL) or London/Hexham (UK) being our preferred locations.
