Project Focus:

Menopause, typically occurring between the ages of 45 and 55, denotes the cessation of a woman's reproductive years. With over a third of their lives spent in peri- or post-menopause, it's projected that by 2030, 1.2 billion women globally will be in these life stages.

Between 75% to 85% of women traversing the perimenopause and menopause transition endure physical and emotional symptoms, ranging from mild to severe. These symptoms encompass hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, vaginal dryness, sleep disturbances, fatigue, changes in libido, and more. Approximately 20-30% of women face severe symptoms.

Menopause today presents numerous challenges:

• Insufficient education and awareness, lead to delayed or absent symptom treatment and diminished quality of life.

• Stigma and taboo surrounding menopause, result in embarrassment, isolation, and mental health issues.

• Controversy and confusion regarding suitable treatments, particularly concerning the risks and benefits of hormone replacement therapy.

We're Hiring: Scientific Menopause Expert

We're looking for a Subject Matter Expert with a scientific background to join us as an Entrepreneur in Residence & Co-Founder. In this role, you'll contribute to shaping the scientific foundation of our future Menopause venture. We seek experts who blend science and entrepreneurship, eager to uncover profound human needs, design optimal solutions, and help build the venture over the coming years.

The Concept:

We are building a digital platform that helps women tackle midlife challenges, including menopause, and regain their vitality by enhancing sleep quality, addressing weight gain, bolstering physical strength, and elevating self-confidence, one bite-sized step at a time.

Our solution includes several components:

• Data gathering via self-assessment (and over time wearables integration and blood tests) to enable personalization

• Tailored evidence-based recommendations on small easy fixes: from impactful tiny daily hacks to supplements and product recommendations

• Personalized wellness programs, designed by menopause experts for midlife women, focused on fitness routines, emotional management techniques, meal plans, and sleep habits

• Supportive community and knowledge hub to build awareness and share experiences

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop the value proposition, products, and services based on robust scientific insights and understanding of women's menopausal needs.

• Establish a user experience methodology rooted in scientific expertise.

• Act as the project's primary scientific advisor/lead, ensuring alignment with the latest menopause research.

• Stay updated on scientific advancements relevant to our solution and integrate them into our offerings.

• Engage with users to gather actionable feedback and refine solutions iteratively.

• Forging strong relationships with the healthcare community and key opinion leaders.

About You:

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, with a demonstrated passion for and understanding of menopause.

• Experience in operating within high-growth startups or scale-ups is advantageous.

• Prior experience as a founder or co-founder or product/science lead of digital or digital health companies is desirable and advantageous.

• Proficiency in English is essential, and fluency in Danish is a plus.
