Job Details:
Purpose
Work in the Center for Media Engagement conducting research by collecting data through various mediums.
Responsibilities
Assist with data collection and preparation.
Assist with examining media content to determine which features are present and how information is conveyed.
Assist with conducting interviews and analyzing data.
Assist with pilot testing questionnaires.
Assist with social media efforts.
Assist with editing and reviewing White Papers and other reports on research results for distribution via the Center for Media Engagement.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree. Two years of experience in the field of quantitative and/or qualitative research, including organizing and collecting data. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills. Must be composed and professional under stress; act with poise, confidence, and political savvy to effectively represent CME; comfortable working one-one-one with senior management, speakers and funders, customers and vendors.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communication, Government or a related field. Experience working in higher education research environments. Experience working on grant funded research projects. Experience with R, SPSS, or Stata. Demonstrated interest in research related to the news media, political polarization, or online communication. Ability and eagerness to independently identify and address opportunities and needs.
Salary Range
$40,000 + depending on qualifications
