About the role

Job Overview

Our Systems Control operation in Iron Mountain, MI is looking for an Area Supervisor for our B-Shift. As an Area Supervisor, you will have the opportunity to lead a team of production talent in our world-class manufacturing facility. 

 

Work Schedule: 4 10-hour shifts (8pm - 6am, Monday - Friday) 

A Day In The Life

  • Provide direct supervision, training, and coaching of 20-30 IBEW employees
  • Assure compliance with safety procedures and quality system procedures
  • Identify and respond to Corrective Actions as required
  • Lead daily crew meetings to review area performance and provide training on various safety, quality and delivery topics
  • Assist with appropriate staffing requirements, including interviewing, hiring and training of new employees
  • Approve and edit employee attendance records
  • Administer to IBEW contract and company values
  • Schedule working hours and priorities daily
  • Improve and maintain 5-S regularly
  • Communicate with fellow supervisors across three shifts, as well as engineering, materials, design, safety and quality teams as required

What will help you thrive in this role?

 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment with 2 years in a leadership role
  • Ability to follow and understand blueprints
  • Computer skills, specifically experience with Microsoft Office Suite programs
  • Strong written and communication skills; formal training a plus
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Proven organizational and project management skills
  • Strong desire to continuously improve and drive results
