Northrop Grumman Microelectronics Center of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking an exceptionally talented, passionate, and creative Semiconductor Equipment Manager II for our Advanced Technology Lab (ATL) - located outside of Baltimore, Maryland - where we design, manufacture, and test semiconductor products for internal and commercial production customers as well as emerging technology programs.

Northrop Grumman’s ATL semiconductor foundry is a unique capability supporting a range of production microelectronic devices (Silicon, Gallium Arsenide, Gallium Nitride, Silicon Carbide, Carbon Nanotubes) and providing leading edge technology development in superconducting electronics. Our devices enable a number of Northrop Grumman’s ground based radars, avionic radars, and space systems. The chosen candidate will be the Manager of 1st shift union-represented Semiconductor Equipment Technicians and will be responsible for directing, planning, and managing the work of said technicians.

Responsibilities include:

  • Set strategic vision for team and build capability to improve equipment availability and downtime reduction.

  • Provide direction and guidance to employees utilizing management guidelines and general policies.

  • Execute staffing decisions, training, and driving engagement efforts to achieve employee’s highest potential.

  • Provide senior leadership with progress reports of parts inventory and service Job Description.

  • Work cross-functionally across the organization to meet business objectives and goals including operations, engineering, and facilities.

  • Maintain a safe work environment.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 8 years of related professional experience; Master’s Degree with 3 years of experience; PhD with 0 years of experience.

  • Experience in Semiconductor Equipment Maintenance.

  • Semiconductor manufacturing experience.

  • Working knowledge of industry and management methodologies focused on continuous improvement in manufacturing, such as SPC, 5S, Total Quality Management or Six Sigma.

  • Must have leadership experience.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • US Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • STEM ( Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) degree.

  • Experience supervising maintenance technicians.

  • Semiconductor manufacturing maintenance experience.

  • Experience with CMMS for tracking and forecasting maintenance activities.

  • Experienced in ISO 9001 or AS9100 Audits and Requirements Knowledgeable of Industrial Hazardous Waste Management procedures.

  • Experience in a union environment.

  • Experience with ASML, AMAT, KLA, TEL, Screen, etc.

Salary Range: $135,800.00 - $203,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
