Senior Java Developer

<p><strong>ManpowerGroup Greece</strong>, on behalf of its client, an International Technology Services Provider, offering gaming solutions, is seeking a <strong>Senior Java Software Engineer</strong> to join their Product Development Team</p><p><strong>Workplace Location:</strong> Athens – Hybrid OR Fully Remote (you need to be based in Greece and holder of a valid EU Work Permit) </p><p><strong>What you will be doing:</strong> </p><p>You’ll work with teams across the organization to create, test and improve the tech that underpins the company. Working across the software development life cycle, you’ll be involved in everything from analyzing requirements, developing secure software to providing support after the new technology is launched. <strong>Our client mostly works with Agile Methodology and their stack is Spring Boot focused &amp; Java 11.</strong> </p><p><strong>Your main responsibilities will be:</strong> </p><ul> <li>Prioritize and execute tasks in the SDLC<br/> </li> <li>Design, implement and maintain Java-based applications that can be high-volume and low-latency</li> <li>Write well-designed, efficient code</li> <li>Review, test and debug team members’ code</li> <li>Design database architecture</li> <li>Carry out research into new technologies and development techniques</li> </ul><ul> </ul><ul> </ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><ul> <li>BSc. in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent<br/> </li> <li>5+ years of professional Java Development experience with at least one Java framework (preferably Spring 4+ or JEE 6+) is required</li> <li>Excellent RDBMS skills ideally PostgreSQL (design, implementation, migration) working with large amounts of data in production systems</li> <li>Experience in implementing REST APIs</li> <li>Excellent understanding of concurrency in Java</li> <li>Understanding of distributed computing principles and challenges.</li> <li>Understanding of how to write clean, maintainable and secure code as well as guiding the rest of the team in doing so.</li> <li>Experience deploying and maintaining production systems</li> <li>A strong drive to follow and apply best practices in software engineering</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to write Unit tests using JUnit or Spock</li> <li>Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken</li> </ul><ul> </ul><ul> </ul><ul> </ul><p><strong>Experience in any of the following will be highly appreciated</strong> </p><ul> <li>Good understanding of Docker<br/> </li> <li>Experience with at least one of the major cloud providers (i.e. AWS, GCE, Azure)</li> <li>Automated testing (functional tests and integration tests) and CI / CD</li> <li>Microservice architecture</li> </ul><ul> </ul><p><strong>Benefits</strong></p><ul> <li>Attractive salary and a bonus plan<br/> </li> <li>Private Medical and Life Insurance Plan</li> <li>Continuous training</li> <li>Friendly working environment</li> </ul><ul> </ul>
