About the role

Responsible for leading the daily operations of the department, including schedule adjustments and monitoring activities to verify compliance with established policies and standards.  Provides leadership and direction to staff in coordination with and in the absence of a supervisor's presence.   Assumes role of "person in charge" when required, in accordance with Washington State Food Code.  Responsible for the delegation of daily duties to ensure that all work is completed in a timely manner.    Assists with orienting and training staff.  Assists with the dissemination of information and may run shift meetings and huddles as assigned.  Communication liaison between the management team, caregivers and other departments. Responsible for cross training to each nutrition position to assure competence so that support can be provided in an emergent situation and to assure lead has a full understanding of the expectations of each position.

Some leads may work a staff position in conjunction with supporting operations.

Required Qualifications:

  • H.S. Diploma or GED
  • Upon hire: National Food Handler Card - State County City Authority

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 year Institutional, Restaurant, Hotel, or Healthcare food service experience.
  • 1 year Leadership experience.

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
