The Content Operations & Innovation organization at Netflix supports content to thrill members with efficient operational workflows and execution while leveraging our scale and innovating to deliver more value on screen. Within this organization, we are looking to host an intern on the NetFX team during Summer 2024. NetFX is a growing cross-functional Visual Effects (VFX) initiative built on Netflix’s innovative platform that optimizes the pairing of talent to tasks to execute a high volume of global work. NetFX has an extensive ecosystem of resources (VFX Vendors, artists) across the Post Production ecosystem, ensuring our members experience the best version of every show, sparking joy around the world. 
As an intern, you’ll assist in facilitating departmental needs and will participate in a program that provides training and development intended to give you the skill set necessary to become a strong candidate for future entry-level positions in business analytics, agnostic of domain.
You do not need prior experience to apply; once you submit your application, you’ll receive an email inviting you to complete your application by filling out an Airtable form. You’ll also be asked to submit a 300-word-maximum statement of intent (preferably in PDF format) within the form using the following prompt: Are you passionate about global marketplaces? What key factors and metrics would you consider crucial for conducting a comprehensive analysis on global transactional platforms that bring together diverse buyers and sellers of a service?

Who are you?

  • A currently enrolled undergraduate or MBA student with authorization to work in the USA and an expected graduation date between December 2024 and May/June 2025 (if undergrad)
  • Should have an interest in working in the film industry 
  • Should have an interest in global marketplace analysis and platform (Buyer/Setter) experience 
  • Must reside in the Los Angeles area for the duration of the internship (relocation and housing support will be provided, if applicable)
  • Must have basic knowledge of computers and familiarity with software applications such as Google Suite (e.g. Gmail, Docs, Sheets) and Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel)
  • Must be collaborative and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be self-motivated and able to take initiative to work independently
  • Has attention to detail and practices good judgment
  • Curious about learning new technology and workflows
  • Has the ability to maintain confidentiality and utmost discretion while being privy to sensitive information
  • Note: Selected candidates must comply with federal, state, and local laws with respect to COVID-19 requirements and protocols (including, but not limited to rules regarding masking and vaccines), Netflix policies, and any of the industry return-to-work agreements that govern same.

What might you do?

  • Conduct comprehensive analysis of current successfully built transactional, virtual marketplaces 
  • Research and analyze industry trends and competitive landscapes for global marketplaces 
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on market analysis to support strategic decision-making
  • Collaborate with senior team members to devise and refine competitive pricing strategies
  • Assist in developing financial models to evaluate business performance and assess potential scenarios
  • Contribute to forecasting and budgeting processes to support financial planning efforts.

  • Participate in meetings and presentations to share findings and recommendations
