About the role
Position Summary
The Workover Leader assures adherence to the Company’s environmental and safety programs as related to workover operations. This individual will actively support and audit programs to ensure environmental and safety compliance and enforce environmental and safety programs related to workover operations as incorporated into the company and third-party providers. The position will report to the Workover Superintendent and will be based out of the Williston, Watford City or New Town, ND Field office. Hybrid work schedule is an option for remote work on Mondays and Fridays. Level and salary commensurate with experience.
Essential Job Functions
Communicate and enforce Chord Energy’s policies and procedures as related to workover operations
Responsible for advising Superintendent regarding Chord’s compliance with all workover related EHS regulations, and consultant performance
Champions Chord’s Values of, Care, Courage, Unity, Ownership, Resilience
Leads the “Chord Consultant Onboarding” process, and be the leading team member for hiring and managing the workover consultant workforce
Support and audit safety training, awareness, and incentive programs ensuring Chord and approved workover providers comply with all safety rules and regulations
Work with Operations and EH&S to implement a contractor safety management program
Provide periodic management reports regarding the status of various projects underway in the workover discipline
Support and enforce Chord EHS standards and practices as related to workover operations
Support and drive the Well Servicing Recommended Practices (WSRP’s) , driving continued improvement efforts supporting company EHS compliance, applicable API guidelines, best practices, including advising engineering and operations staff of needs and changes
Track emerging regulations and implement programs to keep Chord workover operations compliant
Maintain records and accurately file all required reports and statistics on time
Participate in third party EHS audit programs and monthly rig inspections
Assist and support incident investigations, including root cause analysis, development of incident alerts, and assist preparations for senior management 30-minute safety reviews
Assist in the development of SOP’s and best practices
Assure workover providers acquire and maintain rig inspection/certification documentation, and orchestrate appropriate audit practices
Support and encourage spill, incident, and air release reporting
Lead the effort to safely standardize workover operations
Drive unity and stability within the workover discipline

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
A minimum of 10 years related experience field workover operations supervision
Experienced in the utilization of WellView
Possess the ability and willingness to learn other applicable software and applications
Ability to meet deadlines
Ability to work in a fast-paced and fluid environment; flexible with the demands of a growing company
Demonstrate an understanding of applicable 29 CFR 1926 OSHA Regulations
Demonstrate knowledge of API RP 4G, API Spec 4F, and API RP 54
Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in a variety of areas including Workover services, employee supervision and development, and project management
Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record for Company motor vehicle insurance requirements
Possess and thorough understanding of what a healthy Stop Work environment can be
Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of LOTO/Hazardous energy isolation and application thereof
Comfortable presenting and speaking in front of large groups and Senior Management
Required to travel weekly to various field locations
Overnight travel to various field locations including corporate headquarters
On call as required for incident response and critical field operations support
Possess and maintain and current driver’s license
