About the role

Hydrasearch is seeking a skilled and experienced Tube Bender Programmer to join our manufacturing team in Stevensville, MD! The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CNC tube bending programming, including setting up and operating tube bending machines. You will be responsible for creating and optimizing programs, ensuring quality bends, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and efficiency in the production process.

Responsibilities:

  • Program Development: Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs for tube bending machines.
  • Machine Setup: Set up and operate tube bending machinery such as CNC Benders, auto blanking saws, and finishing tools for custom and production parts.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues with tube bending processes, including equipment malfunctions and bend quality.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all bends meet quality specifications by performing inspections and making necessary adjustments. Experience with Hexagon Arm Inspection Arms preferred.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with production, design, and quality assurance teams to meet project specifications and timelines.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of programs, tooling setup, and bend instructions.
  • Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance on tube bending equipment to ensure optimal operation.

Competencies: 

  • Software Skills: Proficiency in tube bending programming software, such as BendPro, VTube, SolidWorks, or other CAD/CAM software.
  • Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of rotary draw bending preferred. Other tube bending techniques including mandrel bending, roll bending, and rotary draw bending are helpful
  • Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and bend specifications.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to adjust programs and setups to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of precision and accuracy in programming and machine setup.
  • Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work as part of a team.
