The Opportunity:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Full Stack QA Engineer to join our growing team at Caraway Home. This role will report directly to the Director of Engineering and work closely with the development team to deliver a best-in-class e-commerce experience. As the inaugural QA Engineer, you will spearhead our rigorous testing cycle, ensuring every new feature meets our stringent quality standards by implementing testing best practices. This role will also extend beyond testing as you tackle complex challenges and navigate various edge cases to ensure scalability. Documentation upkeep will also be paramount as we scale our operations. This role is ideally based in the USA or within the same time zones.

You are a coding enthusiast who thrives on solving tough challenges. You are experienced in scaling digital products and platforms to meet the demands of a growing customer base. You have a deep passion for writing clean code and constantly stay on top of development best practices and coding standards.
You are proactive, thrive in collaborative environments, and are able to communicate clearly with cross-functional teams. You are excited by planning, designing, and executing testing strategies across multiple features while ensuring stability and high standards. As a passionate engineer, you will also enforce clean, optimized code and contribute to enhancing our CI/CD pipelines for improved feature delivery.
You have a keen eye for detail and are able to document features and bugs, ensuring prompt resolution and product integrity. You are collaborative in nature and enjoy bringing key stakeholders together to resolve both minor and complex issues. In this role, your proactive approach and ability to think beyond conventional practices will be pivotal in shaping the future of Caraway.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to implement robust and scalable solutions for a growing e-commerce catalog
- Conduct thorough code reviews and guide team toward continuous improvement
- Perform & develop thorough QA testing including cross-browser/platform compatibility
- Create, own, and maintain our comprehensive technical documentation
- Build out and improve our CI/CD pipelines
- Lead root cause analysis, including initial analysis, cross functional problem solving, bug resolution efforts, and documentation of resolutions
- Stay updated with industry best practices to implement cutting-edge QA methodologies and tools.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- 3+ years of experience in development
- 2+ years of strong QA automation and testing experience
- Writes clean modular code and wants to craft beautiful customer-facing experiences
- Proficiency in JavaScript, React, CSS, & HTML
- Excellent knowledge of QA automation tools, methodologies, and processes
- Experience with e-commerce platforms such as Shopify, Magento, or BigCommerce, preferred
- Use of a react framework such as Gatsby or Next in a production environment, preferred
- Self-starter with a passion for learning and continuous improvement
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
The anticipated base salary range for this role is $100,000 - $130,000
