Industrial Automation Service Engineer

About the role
Catalyx is seeking entrepreneurial, dedicated, and motivated employees that are interested in joining our Aftersales Support team as an Industrial Automation Service Engineer. Aspects of the position involve internal and customer technical support for installed Industrial Automation Solutions and Catalyx core product suite. This is an in person position at our Newtown, PA USA location.
This role consists of providing remote and onsite technical support for industrial automation equipment (Automation controls systems, PLCs, pneumatics, robotics, machine vision). This is not a software development position. The ideal candidate will be involved in multiple aspects of customer support for our hardware and software based solutions including active issue tracking, client phone communication, troubleshooting, installations, solution testing qualifications, updates/upgrades, knowledge capture, training generation and more. The successful candidate will also support the operation and maintenance of complex automation equipment deployed at various sites in the US and around the world, including packaging lines, database/data transfer, industrial machine vision inspection systems, robotic systems, and other industrial automation hardware/software remotely and at various customer facilities.You will be trained and tasked with becoming a Subject Matter Expert in Catalyx solutions and our customer’s industrial automation technology;
Provide technical and timely customer engineering support L1-L3 through the Catalyx web and phone based incident tracking system;
Maintaining Catalyx knowledgebase management systems for supported technology;
Create and foster strong relationships with Catalyx clients;
Research, select, or apply advanced troubleshooting techniques to support industrial automation systems;
Conduct testing studies to determine the trends of recurring issues;
Identify root cause of issues and implement timely resolutions;
Take a pro-active approach to resolving any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise;
Create engineering reports documenting support details or qualification test results;
Support creating quality control documents when required including deviations, CAPAs and protocols;
Support providing clients with preventative maintenance services or offering spare parts for their systems;
Communicate with all levels of the office: Supervisors, Peers, etc. in effort to solve active issues and help inquires;
You will have the opportunity to liaise with internal engineering & project co-ordination team, consultants, subcontractors, supervisors and the general workforce involved in the project delivery life cycle to ensure full compliance with solution requirements;
You will work within Catalyx's standard operating procedures (SOPs) and our clients standard operating procedures for projects;
Follow all standard and regulatory work practices as well as customer specific site work practice;
Work closely with the customer, you will support writing tests, executing system qualification testing protocols, and generating test reports;
Assist with updates and process improvement within the Aftersales department;
Support in the analysis of existing automation or production procedures and suggest improvements;
Support the maintenance of technical project files;
Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, with strong attention to detail;
Demonstrate excellent technical writing skills;
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite;
Demonstrate experience, ability or strong interest to work with elements of industrial automation hardware and software systems such as machine vision technolo
