Position Overview:
Organize projects for the IT development department. Work directly with clients to ensure deliverables fall within the applicable scope. Coordinate with other departments to ensure all aspects of each project are compatible. Communicate with organizational leadership on project progress.
Job Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the successful execution of projects
- Guide project teams in agile processes and remove project roadblocks
- Develop detailed project plans to track progress
- Perform risk management to mitigate project risks
- Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques
- Ensure resource availability and allocation to meet project objectives
- Ensure all assigned projects are delivered on time and within scope
- Work with team and customer to develop project objectives and scope
- Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope and schedule
- Report and escalate issues to management as needed
- Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
- Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
Education and Work Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field preferred
· In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, a Project Management certification such as CAPM or PMP may be considered
· Bachelors Degree in IT or business related field preferred (removes insurance as a major)
· Education and Work Experience – Insurance Experience a plus
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
· Proficiency in project management tools, with a familiarity with Smartsheet and Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence) preferred
· Strong understanding of project management methodologies, including Agile/Scrum and/or hybrid approaches
· Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present project updates to leadership
· Ability to identify risks proactively and develop mitigation strategies
· Team-oriented with a collaborative and positive approach to working with others
· Strong time management and prioritization skills aligned with business needs
Typical Physical Demands:
· Requires the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time, occasional stooping, and reaching; May require lifting-up to 25 pounds; requires normal range of vision and hearing with or without accommodations.
