Summary/Objective:

Training and Staff Development Coordinator is responsible for improving the productivity, knowledge and skill set, and compliance of all Agency staff, and as needed, interns and volunteers. This position assesses Agency-wide developmental needs to drive training initiatives and identifies and arranges suitable training solutions for employees. This position actively searches, creatively designs and implements effective methods to educate, enhance performance and recognize performance.
Essential Functions:
Under the leadership of the Director of Compliance, the Training and Staff Development Coordinator must possess sound organizational, planning, leadership, and presentation skills, confidentiality, strong boundaries, and professionalism.
The Training and Staff Development Coordinator will:
- Conduct annual trainings and conduct/develop agency wide trainings as necessary
- Assist program mangers as needed with the development of trainings that are required to meet program objectives
- Obtain and /or develop effective training materials utilizing a variety of sources
- Assist program managers and supervisors with employee development efforts as needed
- Assists with training and development for emerging leaders as needed
- Plan, organize, facilitate, and order supplies for employee development/training events
- To ensure employees have knowledge of training and development events and resources, develops and maintains organizational communications such as bulletin boards, information sheets, and newsletters
- To evaluate and measure results, conducts follow-up studies of completed training
- Works in conjunction with the Quality Department to assess program and Agency trends
- As needed, modifies training programs and delivery
- Manages and tracks training and related LMS software
- Creates, updates, and maintains staff development and related policies, procedures, workflows, and processes
- Responsible for the facilitation of new hire orientation (schedule, organize, collaborate on delivery etc.)
- Will be an active member of Policy committee, Echo committee, and others as assigned
- Works with Director of Compliance on identified problematic agency workflows and as requested assists program managers with creating, training, and tracking identified solutions
- Assists IT/ Echo Team as requested by IT Manager
Special Requirements:
Work Environment: Office environment will require occasional travel to recruitment events, conferences and/or meetings. Works in an office setting with a controlled temperature environment. Occasional exposure to inclement weather conditions may occur depending upon assignments.
Equipment: This position is required to maintain a working knowledge of related office equipment including personal computers and printers, audio-visual equipment, telephone systems, copiers, fax machines, etc.
Physical Demands: Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, carry, push/pull, climb, bend, and stoop. Must be able to perform fine motor skills, read, and type. Must be able to sit for long periods of time. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
Full-time, traditional hours required along with occasionally some non-traditional hours. This position requires you to work on-site, and offsite.
Travel:
Travel is required throughout service area (Jefferson, Lewis, Oswego, and St. Lawerence County).
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field. Master’s Degree, preferred. At least two years’ experience designing and implementing employee development programs. Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) or Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD) preferred. Experience in the human services sector preferred.
