About Flutter Functions

The Flutter Functions division is a key component of Flutter Entertainment, responsible for providing essential support and services across the organization. The division encompasses various corporate functions, including finance, legal, human resources, technology, and more, ensuring seamless operations and strategic alignment throughout the company.

Role Overview:

You are enthusiastic, motivated and willing to make your mark. You have engineering skills and a passion for technology. You have experience with technologies such as Java, http, event streaming (Kafka) and build tools (e.g. Maven).

You have used dependency injection and inversion of control in previous projects.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain software solutions in accordance with open source & co-creation models

• Adhere to community standards and collaborative development practices

• Consider security aspects when coding and adhere to good coding practices

• Strive to understand the dependencies between components and how they combine to deliver service to the consumer and business

• Be able to identify common concerns to encourage code reuse

• Get familiar with software development methodologies used and actively contribute to team and group meetings

Software development, continuous improvement and QA for developers:

• Delivers independently significant pieces of work under the guidance of more senior colleagues

• Tackle tasks by researching and weighing up the pros and cons of various routes to select the right approach

• Have good knowledge of JAVA and be open to learn other programming languages

• Implement robust solutions and consider support for multiple channels, platforms and browsers

• Strive to evaluate the impact of changes and look for improvements to your function, area or product

• Use your experience to deliver reviews of changes

• Periodically review stats and consider how it impacts system capabilities

• Follow QA best practice across multiple components and projects, to ensure that changes do not happen unwantedly

• Align development tasks with business priorities, effectively communicating delivery timelines

Architecture for developers:

• Make use of reusability techniques (e.g. design patterns, library extraction, new component creation)

• Look for support and/or mentorship from more senior colleagues

Incident management:

• Demonstrate understanding of applications and strive to assess implications of making changes to them

• Look out for potential problems to avoid incidents and raise concerns with more senior colleagues

• Be able to debug the applications you own and actively pursue root cause analysis
