Overview
This position is accountable to work under the supervision of a registered pharmacist and assist in the various activities of the pharmacy department in order to provide quality safe patient care in a designated setting. Responsibilities
Assists in orientation and training of new employees/students.--------------------------------------------------Maintains workflow, including inventory and triaging phone calls.--------------------------------------------------Operates Pharmacy systems technology and automation.--------------------------------------------------Prepares, distributes and disposes of medications in compliance with current standards of practice under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist.--------------------------------------------------Records patient medication histories. --------------------------------------------------Qualifications
EDUCATION:Required: High school diploma or equivalent.Preferred: Pharmacy technician diploma or enrolled in a pharmacy technician program EXPERIENCE:Preferred: Pharmacy technician experience is preferred and hospital pharmacy technician experience is highly preferred. LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIRED:? Pharmacy technician certification through PTCB or NHA prior to hire?
