Our hem/onc department comprises of 4 infusion chairs and our team provides infusion services for patients with chronic conditions requiring IV infusions and injections. 

Nursing skills gained:

• IV therapy 
• IV start skills 
• Education related to chronic conditions 
• Collaboration with a multiple disciplinary team of clinicians and providers

Unit Successes/Designations/National recognition:

• Patient experience scores average 88% or greater. Ranked the highest “likelihood to recommend” core for clinic of similar size.

• Infusion center is a positive place to work. The team is small and works closely with each other to cover two locations. Team members are positive, compassionate, dedicated, and committed to the patients they serve. Team members work collaboratively to ensure patients receive safe quality care. Our team has the ability to build good rapport with patients.  

Qualifications 

• Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
• Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
