Med/Surg and Telemetry Units provide care to patients with medical and surgical diagnoses who may require telemetry monitoring. You will be part of a supportive caregiver family that will be united in shared values and purpose to fulfill our promise of being the best place to receive care and the best place to work in healthcare. 

 
A caregiver in this position works days from 6:00AM – 6:30PM. 

 
A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to RN, these include but are not limited to vital signs, weights, assisting patients with personal care and activities of daily living, patient transfers/transport, pulse oximetry, point of care testing, application of external monitoring devises, and further technical skills of phlebotomy, clean dressing changes, 12-lead ECGs, and insertion of urinary Foley Catheters. 

  • Assist with keeping patient's' rooms clean & orderly. 

  • Maintain personal growth and development through the ongoing process of formal and informal education. 

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:   

  • High School Diploma or GED  

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross upon or within new hire period  

  • Nursing students: Basic Life Support (BLS) required prior to hire 

 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

  • One year of recent, full-time patient care experience OR nursing student who has completed at least one clinical rotation as part of an accredited nursing school program OR military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) OR additional education/training

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination; involves extensive standing
