Job Description

We’re hiring a Senior Quality Control (QC) Technician for our Baton Rouge, LA site who will report to the QC Supervisor. You will be  responsible for performing laboratory work in testing a variety of products and recording/reporting results.

This position requires the ability to work 12 hour rotating shifts to include day, night, weekends and holidays.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Performs chemical and/or physical analyses or scientific tests using both routine and special techniques in compliance with all safety standards
  • Analyzes and processes laboratory samples
  • Records results of tests, organizes data, performs basic computations, and prepares reports and analyses using standard procedures and guidelines
  • Provide technical support to Manufacturing and R&D organizations as needed
  • Active participation in required local safety program, along with the ability to work safely and maintain a clean and orderly lab environment. 
  • Operates, maintains and repairs laboratory test equipment, apparatus, systems and supplies

Physical Requirements and Environment

  • Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a laboratory environment with highly hazardous materials
  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft.
  • Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. Degree in Chemistry or other science related field
  • 4+ years’ experience working in a lab setting to include
  • analytical or scientific methods operations knowledge
  • Proficient with operation of typical computer controlled laboratory instrumentation
  • Demonstrated the adherence of keeping written and/or electronic records
  • Knowledge of chemistry
  • Familiarity with computer programs such as MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills 
  • Ability to comply with all applicable regulatory requirements
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and be an effective team member 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a manufacturing lab environment 
  • Experience with NMR and ICP
